Born in Bonn in 1969. After passing his Abitur (German school leaving examination) and completing his military service, banker apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank AG, Bielefeld. Subsequent, law studies at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität, Bonn. First state examination in law 1996 in Cologne. Legal clerkship (Referendariat) in Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg and Canada. Second state examination in law in Hamburg in 1999. Dissertation; doctorate in 2001.

Professional career:

Admission as solicitor in 2001 in Hamburg. Years working as a solicitor in: commercial, property, and insolvency law; international M&A and real-estate transactions, as well as corporate restructuring for a large, internationally active law firm originating in the USA. Since 2005, he has been a solicitor for: labour law, contract law, general business law, commercial and corporate law, and insolvency law at a highly specialised, internationally active partnership in Hamburg focusing on medium-sized businesses (since 2010 as partner). 2015 Founding partner of ALP Rechtsanwälte.
